Singapore Police Force

The Gurkha Contingent is a line department of the Singapore Police Force consisting primarily of Gurkhas from Nepal. Members of the GC are trained to be highly skilled and are selected for their display of strong discipline and dedication in their tasks. The principal role of the contingent is to be a special guard force, and it is currently used as a counter-terrorist force. Open once a time in a year at British Gurkha Army Camp Pokhara and Dharan Nepal. Only Nepalese youth from every part of Nepal and from every cast can apply.

Selection Process
Recruit Registration

  • Age: Minimum of 18 years and maximum of
  • 21 years on 1 January 2022
  • Born between : A.D: 01/01/2001 - 01/01/2004 B.S: 17/09/2057 – 17/09/2060

  • 1.Education Test: Math Test and English Test
  • 2. Medical Test
  • 3. Physical Test :
    • 800 m Running(Minimum 2min 40 sec)
    • Over Arm Pull Up Minimum 12 Times
    • Mid-Thigh Pull minimum 110 kg
    • Repeated Lift and Carry 20 kg Sack
    • Medicine Ball Throw 4 kg (3m)s
  • 4. Interview Session

  • 1. Medical Test
  • 2. Education Test: English (Essay, Comprehension, Listening and Oral Session)
  • 3. Physical Test:
    • Running (2000m) within 8 min 10 sec
    • Doko Race (5800m) within 50 min
    • Over-Arm pull up minimum 12 times
    • Note: Sometime Physical criterias may change as per decision of BGN
